WILLOW WOOD SIGNS THE HOMELESS FRIENDLY PLEDGE

Willow Wood has partnered with the registered charity Homeless Friendly to ensure that they can reach out and care for even more in our community.

Head of Clinical Services, Karen Vallantine said: “It’s a terrible statistic, but the average life-expectancy of a homeless person is just 47 years of age, and the number of homeless dying on the streets has risen by 25% in the last five years alone.

“By signing the pledge with Gail Sutcliffe of Homeless Friendly we are sending the message that all our patients will be treated with dignity and compassion. Our staff have already commenced training with Gail, and we are looking at all our policies and procedures to ensure they meet the needs of the homeless.”
