THE CIVIC MAYOR OF TAMESIDE THANKS LOCAL SCOUTS

THE CIVIC MAYOR OF TAMESIDE THANKS LOCAL SCOUTS

The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Denise Ward, held a reception on 1st May 2019 at the Mayor’s Parlour in Dukinfield Town Hill for several leaders and helpers from across North Tameside Scout District.

The reception was held for the Mayor to give a big thank-you to all the volunteers who helped week in and week out at the various Scout units across Ashton and Droylsden. She said it was important that all the work is recognised by those outside of Scouting and that a big thank you should be given to each of them for the time and effort they put into helping young people take a full and active part in their local community.

The group included the District Commissioner, Andrew Morton, Alan and Wyn Fish, Donna and Jim Bowden, Steve and Sue Mawdsley, Toni and Julie Hoskin, Ken and Mags Sever, Gill Cummins, Derek Casey, Heather and Eva Pearce and Ken Marks. All who help as Leaders or Helpers within the District.

Andrew said the Mayor has been very supportive during her year in office and thanked her for her attending so many Scouting activities across Tameside.
