HYDE ROTARY SUPPORTING THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY

Working in the community and helping young people is big part of the Rotary Club’s ethos and this year Hyde Rotary arranged a day out at the Petty Pool Adventure Centre in the Delamere Forest.

Located in the heart of Cheshire, and set in 40 acres of magnificent woodland in Sandiway, near Northwich, Cheshire; 28 year 6 students from Bradley Green Primary Academy in Hyde, enjoyed a fun filled educational day where they experienced the thrills of the Zip Wire, enthusiastically took on problem solving during the Crate Challenge and showed their physical abilities and skills on the Climbing Wall, before sampling some very tasty country culinary delights.

After bravely risking life, limb and his dignity when he successfully completed his ascent and abseil on one of the large climbing walls, the club’s Community Chairman, Kevin Maddox, said, “What a wonderful day we’ve all had; it’s not only given the children a chance to experience a fun day outdoors in some of the North West’s wonderful countryside, and given them the opportunity to sample a great period of exciting activity at the Petty Pool Outdoor Adventure Centre. It’s also been a day when the children have learnt the positives of team working and engaged in a range of activities designed to achieve confidence building.”

“The club will always support the young people in our community.”
