HYDE CHURCHES COMBINE FOR THE ANNUAL WHIT WALKS

Sunday 20th May, will see hundreds of local Hyde parishioners taking part in the traditional Whitsuntide ‘Procession of Witness’, a tradition which dates back more than 200 years, to unite local communities.

Accompanied by The Deputy Mayor of Tameside, the Clergy and parishioners from Flowery Field Church, Rosemount Trinity Methodist Church and St Mary’s Church, Newton, will march to the traditional sounds of the Tintwistle Brass Band, in a colourful procession in celebration of their faith.

They will set off at 2.30pm from Old Road, turning up Lodge Lane into Hyde Park entrance where organist, Michael Holmes will be playing the music for a United Service at the Bandstand at 3.00pm.
