Willow Wood are proud once more to be joining forces with Hyde Rotary to bring the Gee Cross Fete back to the Sam Redfern Fields, Gee Cross, on Sunday 23 June.
This traditional Village Fete is a great day out, with activities and entertainment to suit every member of the family. Gates open at 10.50am, and the Fete commences, as always, with the traditional service between 11-11.30am.
There’s a packed schedule all the way through the day with a great variety of entertainment, both in the Big Top and outside in the main arena. Two great local DJs, Phil Hamilton and Andy Stott will ensure the atmosphere never flags, and the live entertainment in the marquee includes Belle Vue Brass, Circus Sensible and local singers Roy Andrew and CJ Andez. Spindrift will take us back to the 60s and 70s, and the entertainment continues with the CCMTT singers and dancers.
Belle Vue Brass will also perform in the main arena, where there will also be some wonderful performances from the Freedom Dancers, Bombomb Fitness (local burlesque dancers), Dance Gallery, ARTSync and our very own Willow Wood Choir.
There will be refreshments, a bar, bouncy castles, craft stalls, classic cars, raffles, tombolas, children’s rides and much more. This year, for the first time, Scruffs Dog Show will be taking place during the Fete.
The entrance fee has been maintained at £3 for adults, with accompanied children admitted free. It really is a lovely family day out. And if you need another reason to visit the Gee Cross Fete, remember that all proceeds will be divided equally between Hyde Rotary and Willow Wood, so you’ll know that you are supporting two great organisations that, in turn, support your local community.
