Hyde Town Team would like to say a massive thank you to all the school children that got involved with the Dinosaur model making competition which took place in April.
Sponsored by Philip Harris the UK largest suppliers of science equipment to schools and colleges, the judges found it extremely difficult to pick the winning entrant as there were so many incredible dinosaur designs to choose from.
Speaking on behalf of the Hyde Town Team, Roger Bamford said, “We were delighted by the enthusiasm and were impressed by all the creative entries we received.”
However, there had to be a winner and the judges decided that 5year old Amelia from Bradley Green Primary Academy, should win the day, and take the £100 voucher for science or school equipment back to her school.
David Sedgwick, from Philip Harris told us, “We were delighted to sponsor this fun competition as it not only introduced children to an early science project, but it also encouraged children to think creatively and young Amelia’s Dino’ model showed real imagination.
Amelia’s teacher Ms Lucy Blackshaw, added,”It has been wonderful to be part of this community event. The families all supported their children in creating some incredible Dinosaur models, discussing the shapes they used and carefully considering their colours choices, whilst thinking about the types of Dinosaur they were making. Well done to all the entrants!”
Echoing Ms Blackshaw’s comments, Vicky Cameron, reiterated, “As Principal, it’s great that so many families have got involved in another Hyde Community Event!”
