In a new development, Tweed Brewing Limited – Hyde’s hugely successful micro brewery – has opened its own real ale outlet called appropriately: Tweed Tap.
Located on Hamnett Street, in what were formerly a couple of shops facing the Royal Mail sorting offices, Tweed Tap is surprisingly spacious with a cosy traditional décor offering a warm welcome for everyone who appreciates locally brewed, award-winning craft beer served in comfortable surroundings.
The range of beers produced by Tweed at their Newton-based brewery will all be available at the new beer bar on a rotating bases and as we wrote this article the bar currently has 4 hand-pulled cask ales including the famous Tweed Hopster, Sorachi, Orange County IPA and Black Shire Stout, plus a Tweed lager and a guest craft cider. You must definitely call in to see what is on offer and to enjoy this unique real ale experience.
The Tweed Tap is open every day (except Tuesday) from 12 noon ‘til 10.15pm. Children are welcome before 7pm and for CAMRA members there is a 20p per pint discount.
Hamnett Street runs from the market down past Santander, which means Tweed Tap is only 2-minutes from Hyde Bus Station, 1-minute from the market and shopping mall, and just a few minutes’ walk from Hyde Central Railway Station.
