TEAM UP WITH GREATER MANCHESTER FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE AND THE PRINCE’S TRUST

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service will be running a new Prince’s Trust Team programme from Hyde Fire Station starting on Monday 22nd January.

This is a FREE 12 week Personal Development course open to anyone aged 16 – 25 who is currently unemployed and not in Education or Training. Benefits are not usually affected and participants can claim a free bus pass.

The course involves a series of challenges designed to improve employability, such as a Community Project, Team Challenge and a team building residential. There is also the opportunity to complete a two week work placement and complete training exercises with the Fire Fighters.

James said “The Team programme has provided me with a good opportunity to do something beneficial rather than spending all of my time job searching. It gave me valuable work experience to help me with applying for University”

Andrew said “It has challenged my talents and helped to put me in the right direction”

Young people who complete the programme can gain up to ten certificates, ranging from Level 2 Food Hygiene and First Aid at Work to a Level 1 Prince’s Trust Certificate in Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills.

If you know anyone who could benefit from this course or you have a project that you think may be suitable for the Team to tackle, please contact: Emma Sercombe, Hyde Team Manager on 07973 966 407 or email sercombee@manchesterfire.gov.uk
