Ashton-under-Lyne Operatic Society is bringing the hit musical ‘Sister Act’, the feel-good, gospel-filled musical comedy that’s guaranteed to make its audiences smile – to the Oldham Coliseum.
The show opens on Wednesday, February 28 and runs for one week until 03 March 2018.
SISTER ACT tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, (Catherine Cooper) a disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses her gangster boyfriend Curtis Shank (Martin Kelly) commit a murder.
Under a Police’s Witness Protection Programme, she is hidden in the one place she won’t be found – a Convent! Disguised as a nun by Lt. Eddie Souther (Paul Allison) she constantly clashes with the tough Mother Superior (Lisa Kay).
Under the suspicious watch of totally uptight Mother Superior, Deloris then helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own, thus breathing new life into the church and community but in doing so, blows her cover.
The result is a hilarious, yet sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music.
With music by Alan Menken this production promises to be a truly ‘habit forming’, divine and offers all a fabulous night out.
Tickets are priced at £20.00
