SCOUTS RAISE FUNDS ON THE CATWALK

Following their successful ‘Fashion Show’ 3rd Ashton Scouts were busily counting their fund raising cash.

Staged at The Broadoak Hotel in Ashton, it certainly seems that many 3rd Ashton Scout families will be the best dressed people in Ashton following the sartorially elegant show.

On the night which featured a wide range of amazing apparel and accoutrements, the event raised a sensational sum of £241.00 which will go to 3rd Ashton Scouts and Explorer Scout Mark to help support him in his attempt to raise the £3495.00 needed to enable him to go to the 24th World Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia North America in 2019.

The event organiser, 3rd Ashton Group Scout Leader, Tina Howarth said,” It was a very successful evening and everyone who came had a fabulous night, I would like to thank everyone who came to support 3rd Ashton Scouts and Mark at the Jamboree, and I would also also thank Neil and his staff at the Broadoak for making it a fabulous night.

If you could help Mark and 3rd Scouts to raise funds or help other Scout Groups like 2nd Ashton and 12th Ashton, as they are very short of Adult Helpers, then please get in touch.

Speaking at the show on behalf of the Scouts, Alan Fish said, “Throughout the Scout movement we are in desperate need of recruiting more Adult Supporters to help our young people to be better citizens in all our communities. We have all the training you may need to support you, we just need you!”
