Earlier this week, a dedicated 3rd Ashton Cub Scout received her ‘Chief Scouts Silver Award’ from Cub Scout Leader Darren Hamlyn, and is now starting her new Scout journey by moving up to Scouts at 3rd Ashton.
To obtain her Silver Award she had to complete six activities. They included the Artist badge, Chefs badge, Martial Arts badge, Fire Safety badge, Entertainer badge and Naturalist badge, which she completed at Cub Camp; she also completed the ‘Our World Challenge’ badge, Adventure and Outdoor Challenge badges, Personal and Teamwork badges and Team Leader and Skills badges.
Darren Hamlyn, her Cub Leader said, “I was very proud to present her the Chief Scouts Silver Award; she has always worked hard on every badge she has completed and has worked hard as part of the Cub section as a ‘Sixer’ of her Six group. She will make a great Scout.”
Julia said, “It has been hard, but I have really enjoyed Cubs and getting my Silver Award, – I can’t wait to start it all again in Scouts when I move up.”
Alan Fish commented, “Julia has really turned out to be a ‘Silver Star’ in Cubs!”
If you believe you might be able to help our young people to get their stars, why not try the Scouts 4 Week Challenge and help Scouting?
