HYDE SCHOOL’S SPORTS CLUSTER OPENS 2017 SEASON WITH AN INTER-SCHOOLS HANDBALL TOURNAMENT

The first Hyde School Sports Cluster tournament of 2017 took place at Hyde Community College last week.

Eight Hyde schools and 70 children competed in the first Handball tournament that the Hyde School Sports Cluster has held, and it must be said that all the teams showed a fantastic attitude to this newly introduced fast-paced game.

After a round-robin competition, the team from Gee Cross Primary beat Dowson Primary to the top spot – becoming the inaugural Hyde School Sports Handball Champions.

The event was again hosted and run by the Sports Leaders and staff of Hyde Community College, who once more played their part in making this exciting tournament a wonderful curtain raiser to what will hopefully be the start of an exciting sporting year!
