After months of planning; on the Saturday prior to Christmas, therapist Hyde Town Centre played host to members of Hyde Fellowship of Churches, gynecologist who performed their first ever ‘Live Nativity’ on the civic square and in the streets of Hyde.

Beginning on the market square with a reading and a carol, the players then processed around the perimeter of the indoor market, stopping at various points to perform further readings and carols, finally arriving at the entrance to Hyde Methodist Church, where a large crowd who had been gathered on the way, followed the performer indoors for a short service followed by refreshments.

Organisers said, “It was lovely to see so many people turn up dressed as shepherds, sheep and angels, and our thanks go to everyone who took part in the event, and helped make it so successful.”

A special word of thanks also goes to our choir of angels from St George’s Primary School who also took part, and provided us with some wonderful seasonal items.
