HYDE COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO WELCOME KATE RICHARDSON WALSH TO THEIR PRIZE PRESENTATION CEREMONY

On Wednesday 19th July, Hyde Community College will hold their annual Prize Presentation Evening, in recognition of the students’ contribution to the college; the wider community as well as recognising their academic achievements and progress.

In addition to presenting the prizes on the night, special guest, Kate Richardson Walsh MBE, the Olympic gold medallist and captain of Team GB hockey team, has graciously agreed to spend the whole day at the college talking to GCSE PE students in an effort to inspire and motivate them to achieve their sporting dreams.

The students and staff are obviously thrilled to welcome Kate to Hyde, as Kate is a national sporting celebrity and a real life role model and ambassador for her sport – making 350 appearances for her country, captaining her side since 2003, making her the most capped female player in the country’s history and was awarded an MBE in the Her Majesty the Queen’s honours list at the end of 2014.

Additionally, Kate will be sharing her experiences and bringing in her medals to inspire the students in an effort to encourage more young people to get active.
