HATS OFF TO THE SCOUTS

HATS OFF TO THE SCOUTS

Over the last few weeks a number of local Scout groups, 2nd Ashton, 3rd Ashton, 12th Ashton and 413th Droylsden, have been making lanterns and wizard hats ready to take part in Tameside’s Lantern parade.

Last Saturday, the Scouts joined in the parade with many other community groups and families which finished on Old Cross Street car park where the crown gathered to watch the Tameside lights switch-on to great cheers, especially for the arrival of Father Christmas.

Not to be outdone and using their creative craft skills, the 413th Droylsden Explorers made a massive wizard hat on a trailer which joined the parade as it made its way through the town centre.

Scout Leader from 3rd Ashton Scouts said, “It was a great parade and the young Scouts loved the arrival of Father Christmas!”
