FAILSWORTH CARNIVAL PROMISES FAMILY FUN THIS WEEKEND

Failsworth Carnival is on this Saturday 9th & Sun 10 June, and promises fun for all the family.

The carnival starts at 10.00am on both days and is held on Lord Lane Playing Fields. There will be a parade around Failsworth on the Saturday from 1.00pm.

There is a fairground, stalls and much more across the weekend. The event is run by a small team of volunteers and they are really eager for the community to come out and support the carnival.

On Saturday Oldham Community Radio will be broadcasting live and stalls will include Blood Bikes, Oldham Cancer Support, Army Cadets, Army vehicles and much more. At 3pm the Carnival Royalty will be crowned followed by presentation of trophies to the winning parade floats.

The MANECCO dance competitions will take place and the Failsworth Band will be playing from 1pm with a karate display at 3pm.

Sunday sees entertainment on the stage from 12.30-4pm including Good Vibrations, Footlights, Diva Dance, Zumba and April Marchington. At 3pm the Bonny Baby competition starts and at 4pm, with the prize draw taking place directly afterwards.

Treasurer of the Failsworth Carnival Committee, Enid Bell, said: “The weather forecast if looking good.  Please line the streets for the parade and bring your money.  Every penny collected goes towards the 2019 carnival.”
