Following the successful open day at Richmond Street Community Centre (RSCC) by the Civic Mayor Cllr Joyce Bowerman, 21 young people and adults attended the Scout promotional trailer and wanted to join Scouting at 12th Ashton Scouts.

Following a meeting with a few parents it has been decided to reopen 12th Ashton Scouts which used to be on Knowle Ave until it was demolished for New Charter Housing development 3 years ago.

The new adult team, some of which will train up to be Leaders, have decided to start Scouts at RSCC on Friday 8/9/17. It will start with Beavers 6 to 8 year olds at 6.00 to 7.00pm, Cubs 8 to 10.5 year olds at 7.00 to 8.00pm and Scouts 10.5 to 14 year olds 8.00 to 9.00pm.

These times and days will change as the Scout Group expands but that is dependent on more young girls and boys joining the sections and the need for more adult help, either as Leaders or helpers and adults on the Scout Groups management team like a chairperson, secretary and other supporters.

Scouting is a great organisation for young people to enjoy and learn from the adventure of Scouting, but that does rely on the adult volunteers joining to help that to happen.

Alternatively, you are more than welcome to turn up on the re-start on Friday the 8/9/17, at a time to suite (see above) where Leaders will be on hand to answer any questions about Scouting at 12th Ashton.
