A NEW BEGINNING FOR 12TH ASHTON’S BEAVERS, CUBS AND SCOUTS

This Friday (8/9/2017) marks the second ‘new beginning’ of 12th Ashton’s Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

The first group was originally restarted by Ken Marks in 1979 but unfortunately their HQ was demolished to make way for a new social housing development on Knowle Avenue Ashton four years ago.

Now, the revived Scout group will be meeting this Friday in the new Richmond Street Community Centre (www.richmondstreetcommunitycentre.co.uk ) starting at 6.00pm for the Beavers, with Cubs at 7.00 and Scouts at 8.00pm.

Alan Fish from the Scouts said, “This has been a long hard journey of nearly four years, getting a building and the services for it, which we couldn’t have done without the help of many funders including Tameside Council and New Charter Housing.

We are now looking for more leaders to run the various sections, along with supporters to help the 12th Ashton Scout Group on their Friday night meetings.”

Scouting is for girls and boys from 6 to 14 years at 12th Ashton, so if you or your child is interested in joining a fun filled troop which will help them reach their full potential, then bring them along to the opening night this Friday 8/7/2017.

Scout Leaders will be on hand to answer any questions about Scouting and the roles that you could possibly help with. We are also looking for supporters who maybe can’t do every week as Leaders, but who might be able to help out now and again in a section, or help manage or fundraise.

Supporters are needed to manage every Scout Group so it can survive.
