If it was musical inspiration you were seeking, then you need look no further than the fourth annual Greater Manchester Music Education Hub Celebration Concert, which took place on 2nd July 2017, at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall.
This year the Sunday afternoon concert featured an array of young musical talent from the GM Youth Brass Band, the Youth String Orchestra, the Youth Wind Band and Chorus.
It also included performances from five GM primary school groups, including two schools from Tameside as part of composer, Ed Puddick’s original work, ‘Another Kind of Imagination’ which exhilarated the packed audience of proud parents, grandparents and visitors from all across Greater Manchester.
Special praise must go to these young singers who sang with superb clarity in addition to their exuberance and spirit making their contribution one of the most memorable aspects of this overwhelming performance.
What a fantastic experience it must have been for those talented musicians and young voices, many of whom had never experienced visiting, never mind performing on such a world class stage.
The Bridgewater Hall is Manchester’s international concert venue, and is home to three resident orchestras: the Hallé, the BBC Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata and was built to give the best possible space for music.
