A truly memorable evening is planned this coming Saturday (24TH February) where visitors, friends, locals and families will experience all the thrills and excitement of a day at the races, with guests betting on the outcome of each race.
Alas, it’s not at Aintree for The Grand National, or at Epsom for The Derby, but a fun race night none the less, that will bring the thrills and spills of a traditional English race meeting to you at the Broadoak Hotel in Ashton.
This race night is to help raise funds for the local 3rd Ashton Scout Group.
Derek Casey, the Scout Group Treasurer said, “This is one of our favourite events for the Scouts at 3rd Ashton, where it’s not only fun, but, over the last few years, it’s become one of our biggest fund raising nights, thanks to the support of the Broadoak Hotel, and I want to see it get bigger and better.”
“I have been a Scout at 3rd for over 70 years; I joined as a Cub when I was 8 years old and want to continue to see the Scout Group and the whole scouting movement helping young people be better people in all our communities.”
The fun race night at the Broadoak Hotel this Saturday at 7.00pm the first race starts at 7.30pm tickets are adults £5 and children £3 which includes that hearty Northern classic – a delicious Meat & potato Pie supper – and with all the money raised by the event, going to the local 3rd Ashton scout group.
The tickets can be bought on the night, so bring all the family to what promises to be a fabulous, fun night out!
